Executive Portrait: Joshua Hauberg

December 10, 2014

Creating an executive portrait can be a challenging task. The photographer is frequently confronted with a situation offering limited time in a limited space with an individual they’ve never met. While there are many unique challenges to this type of photography, they can be overcome with a planned, calm approach to make your client feel comfortable while yielding the best possible results for your client. Theory and Approach Principally, the idea is to produce consistent results that make your clients look…

Photography with Caitlin and Nick

November 30, 2014

On Saturday afternoon I got to meet with friends Caitlin and Nick to take some photos on Caitlin’s father’s property out near Argyle, Texas. Autumn is one of my favorite seasons for photography because of the colors and the light, and the weather was just amazing for this shoot. Something I learned from photographer Scott Young was: when in search of color, look for trees near water. (For whatever reason, it’s true!). Needless to say, the land we were on…

Parker Family Photo Shoot – 12.27.2013

December 30, 2013

I was really excited when Claire had contacted me to take her family photos this past Friday. I had met Claire recently through our mutual friend, Alex Fox, when I was taking team photos at Globe Runner SEO in Lewisville, TX. Claire and her family met me at a local park in Coppell, and wow - what an energetic group! So full of energy, and life. Sometimes it's easy to overlook the small moments that we all share, but with…

Portrait: George Clooney

December 16, 2013

About the Image In October 2010, I had the opportunity to shadow staff Getty Images photojournalist Chip Somodevilla on Capitol Hill. This is an image I took of George Clooney after his meeting with the President, standing outside the West Wing of the White House. With him was John Prendergast, American human rights activist and former Director…

Globe Runner SEO Group Photo

November 22, 2013

Yesterday afternoon I took a group photo at Globe Runner SEO, a boutique search engine optimization company located in Lewisville, Texas. Technical settings: To light this image, I used two Canon 580EX II strobes both with silver umbrellas set to 1/8th power on either side of the couch at a distance of about 7 feet. The strobes were remotely triggered with dedicated PocketWizards from a Canon EOS 5D Mark III with a Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 IS II USM telephoto…

Portrait of a Skateboarder, No.2

July 10, 2013

Here’s another outtake from the skateboarder Anthony Najera and I were photographing at Scion Skatepark in Lewisville on Monday night. Not sure if I like this one or the first one more. Photograph taken at Scion Skate Park in Lewisville, Texas on Monday, July 8, 2013. This portrait was made using a Canon 5D Mark II (because I, like an idiot, dropped & damaged my 5D MkIII, currently out for repair), two Canon 580 EX II strobes at full-power, fired remotely with…

Portrait of a Skateboarder

July 9, 2013

Awesome portrait of a skateboarder I was photographing at Scion Skate Park in Lewisville, Texas on Monday, July 8, 2013. This portrait was made using a Canon 5D Mark II (because I, like an idiot, dropped & damaged my 5D MkIII, currently out for repair), two Canon 580 EX II strobes at full-power, fired remotely with PocketWizards. No light modifiers were used. The RAW image was processed first in Lightroom, where clarity, whites, and individual saturation colors were modified. The…
